The Board of Directors of the Marr Companies recently announced that as of March 31, 2012, Marr Rigging Company, Inc. was merged with Marr Equipment Corporation and effective immediately, Marr Equipment Corporation will conduct business as Marr Crane & Rigging.
This important action was taken to optimize the delivery of Marr's crane, elevator, rigging, trucking and warehousing services in the steadily improving marketplace.
In related news, Marr Equipment Corporation expanded its fleet to include a Liebherr Mobile Crane. This 300-ton crane is fast becoming the fleet’s signature piece, placing Marr among a select few companies in the area who can offer services of this kind. The crane greatly increases the type of rigging and crane work the company can perform; creating additional areas of opportunity.
Marr Equipment’s fleet has serviced the area’s building and heavy construction industry with high quality equipment including lattice-boom cranes, hydraulic cranes, tower cranes, elevators and hoists and signal persons. Marr’s operators are among the most qualified in the region, many having been certified as CCO’s, Certified Crane Operators.
Marr’s rigging services include the installation of all types of equipment on the roof tops of the city’s tallest buildings and in the most difficult and hard-to-get-to, obstructed areas. Local indoor and outdoor equipment storage is offered for current and future construction projects. Two storage locations are available in South Boston and Canton, MA. Off-loading of incoming freight is done with in-house equipment, including forklifts with lift capacities up to 13,572 pounds and cranes with 300-ton lift capacities. Trucking is provided with a fleet of heavy vehicles including tractors, trailers, rack body trucks and pickups.
